‘Ain’t Got No Fear’ (2016) is a project which Mikhail Karikis created with a group of teenagers who are growing up in the militarised industrial marshland of the Isle of Grain in Kent. The project comprises a single-channel video projection, a photographic series and a two-channel video-screen installation.
Entitled Little Demons, the photographic series was produced in the woods where youth raves used to take place on the outskirts of Grain village and depict a group of local children in rave-inspired and demon-like masks as a playful and critical response to the kids’ feelings of demonisation by adults.
