The project For you, only you comprises a live performance for Mikhail Karikis and the celebrated Early Music ensemble Alamire, as well as a three-screen video installation by the artist Sonia Boyce. In the performance For you, only you, Mikhail Karikis generates a new vocal sound piece which imagines an unlikely conversation across centuries between the world of harmony in the work of early master Josquin Desprez and Mikhail’s own contemporary ‘troubled’ voice. Strikingly intense, For you, only you at once reflects on the voice in communication, on cultural difference and the politics of encounter.
